Sony Japan has launched a cellular version of the Xperia Z Ultra (SOL24) for au by KDDI, to go with the cheaper Wi-Fi model (SGP412) that was also announced earlier today. The handset will be available in three colours (black, white and purple) when it launches on 25 January 2014 for 78,120 Yen (£450, �550, $750).
It has the same dimensions as the global Xperia Z Ultra (C68XX), but it is marginally heavier at 214 grams (versus 212g for C68XX). The Xperia Z Ultra SOL24 has support for the au by KDDI 4G LTE network and sports a 6.4-inch 1080p display, Qualcomm MSM8974 chipset with 2.2GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage and micro SD memory card support.
Other features include a 8MP rear Exmor RS camera sensor, 2.2MP front Exmor R camera sensor, IP55/IP58 certification for dust and water resistance, a 3000mAh battery, Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac).
